Welcome
I'm a Contemporary Realisim Artist and I create realistic or photorealistic drawings with a twist. Early in life I had a fascination with highly detailed drawings and illustrations stemming from the influence of my father's sketches. This turned into a lifelong study in drawing as an artist. I'm a mostly self taught artist but I managed later in life to return to school and complete an AA with honors from Frederick Community College, Md in 2002. My work has received the Honorable Mention Award in several shows in the Maryland area. I have exhibited in group shows in New York at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition (B.W.A.C.)and with the Rockaway Artist Association. I even conducted a One -Man-Show at the public Library in Harlem, NY. I continue to pursue self-study and influences from internationally known artist such as J.D.Hillberry, Jeffery Appiatu, Kevin Okafor and others who excel at producing hyper-realistic drawings, help in my endeavor to prefect my craft.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
"My inspiration for creating art is in the details. Details such as the rust on a old bucket or the way light dances off a metal car bumper. The details that everyday people overlook I find fascinating as a subject. That's what inspires me to create art."
I use a few different techniques in my work to capture the viewer's attention. I use fine details to bring a sense of photographic realism to my work by layering, recreating realistic textures and subtle tonal changes. I use visual methods by combining unrelated objects, using a play-on-words, titles, etc. These are just a few techniques I use in my work.
I have exhibited my work in group exhibitions at The Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition (B.W.A.C.) Brooklyn,NY and The Rockaway Artist Association (R.A.A.) Rockaway Park,NY. Solo Exhibition was held at the Public Library of Harlem,Harlem,NY. recently I was chosen to provide Cover Art for the Delaplaine Arts Center's Quarterly Fall Magazine.
